The Lazarus Handplane Co. is me, Mateo Panzica.  I am a life long wood and metal worker.  I've worked in diverse fields.  Furniture making, bronze casting, fine antique conservation, and building timberframe structures... just to name a few.  I've now turned my attention to tool making.  

     My planes (blades and all) are made by myself.  I strive to offer beautifully constructed tools at reasonable prices.  Whether  a gentleman woodworker or seasoned professional, we chose the pursuit of this craft for fulfillment.  Your tools should aid you in this pursuit... not hinder it.  I make tools that are a pleasure to use.
